Jerry’s Cross

Jerry’s Cross

God speaks to each of us in a way that is just as unique as the way He made us. Jerry was getting a shower and settling in after a long day, when he heard a roaring sound like a train coming up the street. He sought shelter in a closet, kneeling and praying, as the floor rose beneath his feet; and with beams popping and cracking overhead, the roof was being torn off the house. When the tornado was all over, that closet was all that was left standing of his home. When he opened the door, a crucifix lay at Jerry’s feet. He asked everyone in the neighborhood, trying to find the owner, but to no avail.

Jerry’s life up to this time had been sad and lonely and he had no desire to go on. He had wished many times for his life to end. In the closet that day, Jerry knew he was not ready and God sent him a lifeline, His Son.

From that day forward, Jerry spent his time getting to know his Savior. God sent him a Godly wife who shared her faith with him. His faith and love for God grew with each passing day. When he had to have heart surgery, he carried the cross with him and it stayed by his bedside until he went home to be with his Lord.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
